Remote audits demand more than video calls and shared folders; they require disciplined judgment about evidence, risk, and control when the auditor is far from the client. This course shows how to build a workable remote engagement approach, decide what electronic evidence can be trusted, and respond when procedures uncover gaps. It is aimed at auditors who need practical, standards-based methods for current US engagements. By the end, learners can reason through remote audit decisions under AU-C standards and support those decisions with clear documentation and worked examples.
The course covers remote planning, risk assessment, evidence reliability under AU-C 500 and AU-C 501, walkthroughs, tests of controls, inventory observation, confirmations under AU-C 505, client data protection, supervision, and analytics-assisted substantive procedures. It also addresses evaluating deviations, extending substantive testing when controls are not relied on, and checking the completeness and accuracy of analytics output.
